Indian Apparel Exports Declined

In a report, Apparel Export Promotion Council of India says, in contrast to 2017, Indian apparel exports dropped by 22.76 percent in April 2018. The Indian RMG exports amounted around 1.74 billion dollars in April 2017 while it dramatically dropped to 1.34 billion dollars in April, 2018. In conversion, the export was RS. 11272.24 crore in April, 2017 and RS. 8859.7 crores, showing a decline of 21.40 percent. Along with the export, India’s apparel production also saw an 18.6 percent decline in March, 2018 and 11 percent in April 2017 to March 2018 period as per the latest IIP figures. Indian RMG export has also decreased by 3.83% in the following period and accounted approximately 16.71 billion dollars in total which was a bit higher in the previous period with 17.38 billion dollars.
